Where they started.
The City of Moreno Valley Public Works department operated a mixed fleet of trucks, vans, and utility vehicles that had accumulated inconsistent markings over many years and multiple procurement cycles. Residents could not always tell an official city vehicle from a private contractor, which created confusion during service calls and eroded accountability. The department also needed to meet reflective and identification requirements for worksite and roadside safety, and it had to procure the program through a compliant, documented process with strict budget stewardship. Aging decals were fading and peeling, and each new vehicle was being marked differently by whoever handled it.
What we built.
We worked within the city's procurement requirements to deliver a standardized, spec-driven graphics package covering every vehicle class in the fleet. Our designers created a clean, authoritative identity featuring the city seal, department identification, unit numbering, and non-emergency contact information, with high-visibility reflective certified vinyl to support roadside and worksite safety. We built a documented specification and template library so every future vehicle acquisition could be marked identically and consistently, protecting the investment over time. Installation was scheduled around the department's operational needs, marking vehicles in rotation so essential services continued uninterrupted throughout the rollout.
The results
- Entire mixed fleet unified under one consistent, instantly recognizable city identity
- Reflective spec-compliant graphics improved roadside and worksite visibility for crews
- Documented template library ensures every future vehicle is marked to the same standard
- Clear department identification and unit numbers strengthened public accountability
“Residents can now tell our crews apart from anyone else at a glance, and every new truck rolls out looking exactly like the last. It brought real consistency and accountability to the fleet.”
