3M vs Avery Dennison: Which Vinyl Is Right for Your Wrap?

We stock both 3M and Avery Dennison films because neither is universally better: they're better at different things. Here's how we choose.

3M IJ180Cv3, 1080, 2080

3M's hallmark is Comply™ adhesive, channels in the glue that release air during install. The result is bubble-free wraps with less squeegee acrobatics. Color depth on metallics is excellent and the print profiles are reliable across batches.

Best for

  • Custom printed wraps (fleet, food trucks, race liveries)
  • Complex curves and compound shapes
  • Commercial fleet vans and box trucks

Avery Dennison MPI 1105, Supreme Wrapping Film

Avery's films are slightly thicker and have arguably the richest mattes and metallics in the industry. The Supreme Wrapping Film line in particular has a depth of color that's hard to match.

Best for

  • Premium cast-vinyl printed wraps
  • Trades vehicles that take abuse
  • Long-term color saturation in sun-heavy zones (Coachella Valley)

Applicable material and workmanship coverage varies by product, surface, placement, installation conditions, location, and exposure. The choice between the two comes down to install feel and which finishes you're chasing.
